On March 1, 2019, the Principality of Andorra and the State of Vatican City / Holy See entered the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).
These entries bring to 36 the number of countries in the European payments area: The 28 member states plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, the Principality of Andorra and Vatican City / Holy See.
All EPC participants will be able to send or receive SCTs (SEPA Credit Transfers), SCT Insts (SEPA Instant Credit Transfers), and SDDs (SEPA Direct Debits) to EPC participants in the Principality of Andorra and Vatican City State, as their financial institutions join these schemes.
